Leverage your social media audience
Social media is a great way to let your loyal following know to support you! Use the graphics we’ve provided above or create your own graphics to match your respective branding and promote on Facebook and Instagram. On your Instagram posts and stories, use the hashtag #yumasbest.
Mention Yuma’s Best on your website, emails, or newsletters
Make the most of your website and emails. Include a link to the ballot and/or utilize the provided graphics. You could even put a link to the ballot in your email signature, asking your correspondents to vote for your business.
Reach your customers in person.
Is your restaurant, shop, or brick-and-mortar establishment open to walk-in customers? Print and hang the provided flyer where your patrons can see it, or create your own signage to encourage customers to vote for your business.

How do the nominations work?
If you don’t see your business on the BestInYuma.com voting poll, send in the business name at the link above. The earlier you send this in the more exposure your business will have once voting starts December 1st.
Do businesses have to pay to be represented on the ballot?
No! The Yuma’s Best Readers’ Choice Poll results are based 100 percent on the public’s nominations and votes. Being an advertiser does not guarantee a win.
Then what’s the deal with the ads on the ballot?
We offer Yuma’s Best advertising packages which include enhanced listings and advertising on the ballot, ads in the Yuma Sun, and ads across YumaSun.com. These advertising packages give businesses more exposure and are great marketing, but do not guarantee anything for the contest.
Why is my business not showing up on the ballot?
Ballot entries are cleared every year to reduce out of business entries from appearing.
How does the voting work?
Voting goes live December 1st and ends December 31st.
How many times can I vote for a business?
You may vote once per category.
Do I have to vote in all of the categories?
While we would love that each category gets your vote, each vote counts. To be entered into a drawing for a gift card to one of Yuma’s Best restaurants, vote in at least 10 categories.
What happened to that one category from last year?
Every year, we take a close look at the categories from the previous year’s ballot. Some categories get added based on reader feedback/suggestions. Others are dropped due to low engagement. Some categories are combined. Some are reworded for clarity. We do our best to consider the impact of these changes, but we’d like to hear from you if you have comments or suggestions. How can I promote my business to get nominations/votes?

Can nominees be based outside of Yuma County?
We include businesses in Yuma County and the Winterhaven areas.
Can chain stores and franchises be included ?
We love to see all businesses in the Yuma County area shine.
Local managed chain stores and franchises employ local people, pay taxes, donate to non profits and volunteer on local boards and organizations.
It’s up to the voters to vote for what businesses they support.
I don’t have time to fill out the whole ballot right now. Can I come back later and do more?
Yes! As long as you’ve already registered (entered your email address on the form on your first nomination or vote), you can pick up where you left off.
When you return to the ballot on the same device, you should be automatically logged in and able to see your previous selections.
If you aren’t logged in and you know that you’ve already registered, click the “Already entered?” link at the top of the ballot, then enter the email address you previously used.
I’ve been logged out and I have not received the email to get logged back in. What do I do?
First, check your spam folder. If you don’t find the email in your spam folder, consider following these instructions to ensure your email platform isn’t blocking emails from our email address (marketing@yumasun.com). If you’re still having issues, please send us a message at marketing@yumasun.com.
Why do I have to make an account?
Our ballot software requires that users create an account to track your selections. This helps us guard against fraudulent voting and allows you to revisit the ballot before deadline to make changes and additional nominations. There is no password needed!
How do I find out who the winners are?
Winners will be announced online in late February and in the Winners & Favorites issue published in the Yuma Sun.

Which honorees will be featured in the Yuma’s Best Winners issue?
The Readers’ Choice winners and the two runner-ups in every category will be listed in a February 2026 Yuma Sun.
When will finalists and winners be notified?
We do our best to notify winners in January. We ask winners to keep it a secret until the winners are announced publicly (online and in print in late February).
